Μεταπτυχιακές Σπουδές

To graduate, students of the Department of Food Science & Technology must have successfully completed a total of 42 compulsory courses (including the Thesis) and 12 elective courses as shown below, in order to accumulate a total of 300 Credit units.

Degree acquisition

In order to obtain the degree, the student is required to successfully pass (grade ≥5) in all compulsory and elective courses provided in the study programme with a total number of 300 credit units. In this case, the grade of the degree is calculated according to the regulations of Β3 / 2166/87 (Government Gazette 308/87 Vol. Β.), Β3 / 2457/88 (Government Gazette 802 / 16.6.1989 Vol.Β) and Β3 /2882/16.6.1989 (Government Gazette 507 / 27.6.1989 Vol..Β) as follows: Based on the teaching units that each course has, the corresponding weighting factor of the course is calculated, which is multiplied by the successful examination grade of the above course and then  the sum of the above products is divided by the sum of all the coefficients of gravity.

  • Note 1: The weighting factor for courses with teaching units = 1-2 is 1, with teaching units= 3-4 is 1.5 and teaching units > 4 is 2.
  • Note 2: The Thesis corresponds to attending courses with a total number of 30 credit units and has a weight of 9, equivalent to six semester courses.

Graduation

When the student fulfills all his/her obligations (examination and diploma thesis), he participates in the Oath and Graduation Ceremony. This ceremony takes place publicly in the Ceremony Hall of the Institution. The graduation is followed by the Award of Degrees by the Rector’s Authorities and the Chair of the Department.
